Emily Ratajkowski to Launch New Podcast ‘High Low with EmRata’

Emily Ratajkowski, the model and bestselling author of essay collection My Body, is ready to add “podcast host” to her resumé. High Low with EmRata, which Ratajkowski describes as “‘Call Her Daddy’ meets ‘Fresh Air'”, will launch Tuesday, November 1.

“I decided I wanted to write the book before I ever would even think about a podcast, but it’s sort of a natural progression for me”, the 31 year-old tells Variety exclusively. “I’m very excited about producing the show and doing it in my own way”.

Launching in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment, High Low with EmRata will release two episodes a week plus a bonus episode for subscribers only. The two main episodes will consist of one guest interview and one “themed” episode that Ratajkowski describes as “a monologue” more in the vein of her essays. “I grew up listening to NPR and radio because we didn’t have television… Ira Glass was my hero”, she continues. “To be able to dive into topics that I’m interested in, in this format is so exciting”. The range of topics Ratajkowski hopes to tackle include feminism, pop culture, self-image, relationships, and “cultural moments” that encompass all the above. “I don’t want the show to at all feel pretentious, but I want to be talking about things that I find interesting and important”, she says, citing interviewer influences ranging from Terry Gross to Howard Stern.

Ratajkowski also hopes to bring in her own experience as an interview subject to keep the conversations she’s now moderating lively. “I did so many podcasts when the book came out in hardcover, and I learned a lot”, she says. “There’s people who interview and there’s people who listen and have conversations. That’s the thing I feel the most anxious about. I’m so used to sitting on one side of it, but I know what I want from these conversations”.

High Low with EmRata is produced by Ratajkowski and Sony Music Entertainment’s Somethin’ Else. The executive producer is Serita Wesley, producer is Chelsea Jacobson and associate producer is Rachel Chodor.

Maluma and Emily Ratajkowski are the protagonists of the new Versace Eyewear campaign

Notorious BIG loved them and wore them all the time, in the mid-nineties, so much so that they have since become the Medusa Biggie. These are the Versace sunglasses, which are now back as protagonists in the campaign for the new Eyewear season, signed by the images of Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. There are two testimonials, and it is impossible to ignore them: Maluma and Emily Ratajkowski.

The new models feature a reinterpretation with gold-colored metal details, while the neon and white acetates reflect the colors of the Versace spring/summer 2022 fashion show. Bold models, as always, that require that energy and desire to amaze that unites most customers loyal to the brand.

The new proposals include unisex pilots, with the Medusa Biggie medallion on the temples and the original eyewear, duly revisited, but always with a retro taste, which conquered the rapper Notorious BIG and many others. For summer 2022 it is available in turquoise or black with dark gray lenses. There is no shortage of eyeglasses, in which you can always find the Medusa Biggie medallion along the temples. Impossible to give it up for the new season, and Versace knows it.

Michael Kors x Ellesse joined hands for a retro-inspired activewear collection

Michael Kors has joined forces with the Italian sportswear company Ellesse to honor the 1970s athletic trends, which have long been a bedrock for contemporary athleisure.

The Michael Kors x Ellesse activewear line is slated to hit the stores on May 9, 2022. The exclusive duo has created a 24-piece collection that will be easily accessible via Michael Kors’ e-commerce website following its release. The price range for the collection will start from $70.

Emily Ratajkowski Has Designed a Collection of Fine Jewelry With Spinelli Kilcollin

Emily Ratajkowski is a lot of things to a lot of people: actress, model, fashion influencer, girl crush, Instagram selfie master. One could also argue that she qualifies as a modern-day version of the goddess of beauty, with the allure and posing abilities that could rival those of Lada in Slavic mythology or Adara in Greek mythology. These figures were among the key starting points for her latest venture, a jewelry collection she designed in collaboration with Spinelli Kilcollin. The seven pieces, which include mixed-metal hoop earrings and a linked pavé diamond ring, are appropriately named after those two paragons of pulchritude, as well as the Turkish Ayla, halo of light around the moon, and Vesta, a Roman goddess of hearth, home, family, and domestic life. The collection launches in stores and online at Barneys New York and thedropLA@barneys on Saturday, June 2nd and prices start at $6,000.

The EmRata x Spinelli Kilcollin line is Ratajkowski’s entrée into the world of jewelry design, but as she explains, she’s always been “a superfan of the brand.” She discovered it about six years ago, when she started wearing one of its simple gold linked rings every day. She became close friends with cofounders Yves Spinelli and Dwyer Kilcollin, and together they decided to embark in this surprising creative project.

Ratajkowski has long been a fan of diamonds and credits her “years of obsessing over jewelry” as the main draw to this collaboration. Aside from the goddess influences, she also explains that “the aesthetic borrows from a young royal, a princess who likes to hit the town in jeans and decadent hoops.” She also used one of her own vintage rings, which she purchased at a consignment shop in Palm Springs, as a reference point for the new line and, specifically, for the pendant necklace. As is true in her covetable day-to-day wardrobe (remember her Zara wedding suit?), Ratajkowski loves to experiment with blending high and low when it comes to accessories. “I’m a huge gold and diamond person. I’ll wear a diamond necklace with sweats or with a swimsuit on the beach,” she says, noting that she often likes to “mix classic fine jewelry with funkier pieces. To me, jewelry is all about having fun and feeling pretty.”

Emily Ratajkowski, Lilly Singh Among Five Cast in NBC Comedy Pilot ‘Bright Futures’

NBC has set the main cast for its upcoming comedy pilot “Bright Futures”, Variety has learned.

Emily Ratajkowski, Lilly Singh, Shameik Moore, Jimmy Tatro, and Calum Worthy will all star in the single-camera project, which follows a group of friends all stumbling through the transition from the clueless, immature twentysomethings they are now to the successful professionals they’re destined to be. In addition, Lisa Kudrow will serve as the show’s narrator.

Ratajkowski will play Sarah, described as a girl-next-door type but also with a behind-the-ear tattoo. She can just as easily bro out with the guys as she can be the girliest girl. Ratajkowski is a model and actress known for her roles in films like “Gone Girl” and “We Are Your Friends”. She is repped by UTA and Untitled Entertainment.

Hale Rothstein will write and executive produce “Bright Futures” with Danny Segal and Isaac Schamis writing and co-executive producing. Kenya Barris will executive produce. The project will be produced by ABC Studios and Barris’ Khalabo Ink Society banner, which is set up under an overall deal at the studio.
